Conversational Hypnosis: How to Direct How People Respond To You
We have all met someone who is charming, magnetic, has no trouble being the object of flirtation and who enviously seems to attain more sales on the board than anyone else in the office month after month! The boss seems to hang off this person’s every recommendation as if they were some kind of assistant manager and everyone else is left to wonder – why?
As I write this I am thinking back to my days as a junior recruitment consultant trying to push through the ranks. A growing portfolio of big name clients and an impressive track record of deals speaks volumes in any industry if you are aiming for positions in business development and sales management.
Even if a career in sales is not your focus there is one element that remains constant in life – we move forward based on results. It is almost without exception that in order to attain results in any people-facing role we need to have people respond to us in a positive way. We need to not only be well liked but we need to also present ourselves as strong, knowledgeable and the most competent amongst our peers.
For a long time I thought that people who seem to have everyone “eating out of the palm of their hand” must have a natural attractive factor. It seemed to be something that you either “had or you didn’t”. Today I still believe that some people have a natural ability to communicate on all levels better than others. The crucial fact is though that if you don’t find yourself automatically in this category of people you can easily change the situation with the right training.
While some experts may consider it a form of manipulation, conversational hypnosis is really just a more powerful form of communication. I realized early on in my career that I was going to come up against “charming and magnetic” people all the time and unless I could develop my own way of being the same I would always be second to such people or simply taking my chances as to whether opportunities went my way or not. In fact, once I started to learn more about conversational hypnosis I was quite shocked to realize just how many of the people I previously had assumed were “naturals” had actually had the very same conversational hypnosis training in one form or another!

Conversational Hypnosis – How to control the way others respond to you
If you want to have more influence over your interactions with other people then it is very important that you learn the right ways to read people. We may all think of ourselves as average to good judges of character but trained hypnotists and psychologists have much more laser-targeted ways of interpreting our behavior.
Being aware of body language, facial expressions, hesitation and hand gestures in order to realize just where and why someone is resisting you, enables you to better understand how you need to approach them to develop instant rapport.
Once we can accurately make these types of judgements we can then capitalize on the subconscious triggers and belief systems that our subject is telling us that they operate under, in order to make them take the actions we want.
Think it sounds complicated?
Actually it isn’t.
Personality and character knowledge of this kind is within everyone’s grasp with the right training. Many celebrities, politicians, speakers, copywriters, advertisers and HR professionals are advised that this type of training is essential to their success and the majority of top positions in these fields expect you to demonstrate skills in conversational hypnosis/neuro linguistic programming.
Conversational hypnosis is used on us everyday in many more ways than we are aware of. So much so that without some knowledge of this strategy we leave ourselves open to being amongst the “controlled” rather than one of the “controllers”.
